About Us
CSL was originally founded in 2012 to engineer and supply Ductile Cast Iron Containers to the Nuclear Industry for the transport and long term storage of Intermediate Level Wastes. Along with our partners, and through an established supply chain CSL has extensive and specialist experience through whole Project Delivery Life Cycle including:

CSL Nuclear containers
CSL containers (cylinders and boxes) are constructed of Ductile Cast Iron and are designed for the safe, effective containment of Nuclear ILW for transport and storage. Our containers will be supplied to Magnox through the recently awarded framework (£200million over 6 years). Together with our key subcontractors CSL are able to provide bespoke and specialist engineered solutions manufactured to the highest quality standards at a cost effective price. We have international supply chain and logistics established to service requirements all round the world. Please feel free to get in touch, we would be more than happy to help with any enquires.
Own in-house developed products include:
o 500 litre capacity Ductile Cast Iron, Cylindrical, ‘Drum’
o 3000 litre capacity Ductile Cast Iron, Cuboidal, ‘Box’
· Self Shielding
· Incorporate innovative design features for minimum/zero maintenance
· Both designs are compliant with IAEA transport regulations
· Designed for the safe, effective containment of Nuclear ILW for transport and long term storage
· Currently developing variants for acidic wastes
· Currently developing alternate containers, including those of concrete construction

- Unique Lidding technology providing significant advantages in the most onerous impact scenarios
- Unique sealing arrangments that are not affected by ILW radiation levels
- Sealed for life - 500 year design life (including primary seals)
- Facility to test seals prior to movement without removal of lids or disturbance of primary seals faces
- Optional facilities to condition wastes once loaded
- HEPA filter options to permit use of containers as vented packages
- Optional pressure monitoring and depressuring systems when containers used as sealed packages
